We are seeking an experienced Telecoms Installation Design Engineer (IDE) to conduct comprehensive design reviews and installation engineering for a landmark nuclear infrastructure project. This role focuses on reviewing, adapting, and detailing proven, nuclear-assured telecommunications and life-safety blueprints for a major new-build deployment.

The Scope of Systems:

  • PAVA / Public Address: Large-scale systems (ASL frameworks / MICA platforms).
  • Critical Networks & Wireless: Site-wide wired/wireless IP networks, Wi-Fi, and DAS.
  • Security & Operational Systems: Process CCTV networks, TV distribution, and Telephony.

Key Technical Deliverables:

  • Design & Modelling: Produce and modify 2D/3D installation designs using AutoCAD.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed Installation Guides considering strict tooling and nuclear-grade environmental quality controls.
  • Package Production: Generate full installation design packages (Equipment Layouts, Schematics, BOMs, Design Schedules, and Cable Containment).
  • Surveys & Support: Plan and perform site surveys; act as a design checker for the wider engineering team.
  • Safety Compliance: Apply Safety by Design principles and generate Designer's Risk Assessments (CDM legislation).

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Proven track record as an IDE within highly regulated, critical infrastructure (Nuclear, Rail, or Defence).
  • Software: Strong competency in AutoCAD (2D/3D); Navisworks Manage or SketchUp Pro is a distinct advantage.
  • Technical Knowledge: Broad understanding of PAVA (ideally ASL), Wi-Fi, DAS, and CCTV.
  • Compliance: Intermediate knowledge of CDM Designer responsibilities and whole-life design principles.
  • Mobility: Valid UK driving licence for occasional site visits.
