We're Hiring: Accounts Assistant

The Accounts Assistant plays a key supporting role within the Finance team, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions across the business. Working closely with the Group Accountant, the role provides exposure to all aspects of transactional finance, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations and reporting support. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop their finance career within a growing business, gaining valuable experience while contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

· Process supplier invoices ensuring accurate coding and posting within the finance system.

· Prepare supplier payment runs and processing of payments.

· Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

· Raise sales invoices and support credit control activities where required.

· Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.

· Assist with audit preparation by providing documentation and schedules as requested.

· Support weekly and monthly reporting requirements across UK entities.

· Respond to internal and external finance queries in a professional and timely manner.

· Contribute to the ongoing improvement of finance processes and procedures.

About You

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

· Positive, proactive and willing-to-learn attitude.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.

· Strong numerical and analytical skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

· Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications & Experience

· AAT qualified, studying towards AAT, or relevant accounting/finance qualification.

· Previous experience in an accounts assistant, finance assistant or similar role (desirable).

· Experience of processing purchase ledger and sales ledger transactions.

· Experience with Xero (desirable).

· Experience with Sage200 (desirable).

· Competent user of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

· Desire to develop a long-term career within finance and accounting.
