We are currently recruiting for an Associate Personal Injury Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer (Specialist in Military Injury Claims) to be based at our Duke House office in Leeds City Centre. The role involves managing a caseload of military personal injury matters under supervision.This position is suitable for legal professionals with 3 to 5 years\' PQE, preferably with experience in military claims and knowledge of the intricacies involved in bringing claims against the Ministry of Defence and applications/appeals in relation to the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme and Armed Forces Pension Schemes. The role is high profile and politically sensitive.The military claim types will include defective equipment, training injuries, cold injuries, assaults, bullying/harassment and discrimination, AFCS claims and noise induced hearing loss claims.EXPERIENCE REQUIREDRole is that of Associate to avoid people under qualifying applying. Obviously will keep options open if the right candidate applies, likewise in terms of seniority given the potential for business development;The role is high profile and politically sensitive;Experience of acting for service personnel and veterans in high value and complex litigation in the County Courts, High Court, Tribunal Services and knowledge of the Service Complaints System;Assisting in claims of utmost severity;Ability to develop business connections;Passion for assisting service personnel, veterans and their families to achieve justice and to make a difference.KEY TASKSRunning a caseload of client matters with limited supervision.Dealing with matters at all stages, from taking the client\'s initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures.Obtaining and preparing file documentation.Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties.Dealing with client enquiries.Providing support to other fee earners in the PI department where required.KEY SKILLS – ESSENTIALA passion and empathy for assisting service personnel, veterans and their families to achieve justice and make a difference.Professional and friendly client care.Ability to work accurately in accordance with procedures and processes.Be organised and methodical and with great attention to detail.Ability to analyse evidence in cases involving high amounts of disclosure, and have a solutions focused mindset to complex legal problems in a straightforward and customer friendly way;Ability to present and argue a case orally and in writing.Good and clear communication to deal with clients and other parties face to face.Excellent telephone manner.Accurate communication to produce clear and accurate letters and legal documents.Confident IT skills.Ability to learn quickly.Ability to organise and prioritise work, under supervision, to meet clients\' expectations and matter deadlines.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.A flexible, pro-active and \'can do\' attitude.QUALIFICATIONSCurrent Practising Certificate for qualified applicantsSALARYDependant on skills and experience.
