The Role
The role involves developing and managing a varied caseload of Company Commercial matters.
This is a new role arising from the continued growth of this department.
Initially the successful candidate will have a small developing caseload of commercial clients which the successful candidate will develop good relationships.
The successful candidate will have the desire to help continue the growth of the department.
Existing contacts and/or strong business development skills are highly desirable but not essential.
Ison Harrison has a vibrant, growing commercial practice and this role requires an individual with prior experience in Company/Commercial/Corporate matters.
The work involved will include a mixture of commercial contract drafting, business and ownership planning, business sales and acquisitions.
Job Description
- Dealing with matters at all stages, from taking the clientβs initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures.
- Taking instructions from clients and advising accordingly.
- Providing advice to clients on the different legal issues.
- Obtaining and preparing file documentation.
- Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties.
- Maintaining legal knowledge and skills.
- Contribute to maintaining and improving office procedures.
- Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
- Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm.

- Ability to deal with technical details and to express solutions to complex legal issues in a concise and customer-friendly way.
- Literate and numerate.
- Ability to present and argue a case orally and in writing.
- Ability to work accurately in accordance with the requirements of each team.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to deal with enquiries in a customer-friendly and effective manner.
- Good keyboard skills.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years experience in either company/commercial or corporate work.
- A Solicitor or Legal Executive with up to 3 years PQE.
- Other
- Flexible and βcan doβ attitude.
- Excellent written English to produce documents for the clients, court and other parties.
- Good spoken English to resolve telephone enquiries.
- Satisfactory absence record or sound justification for high absenteeism.
- Able to promote the image of the firm.
- Working Pattern
Full-time preferred but consideration will be given to candidates looking for part-time hours.
