We have an exciting vacancy for a Paralegal to join our dedicated Crime team on a full or part-time basis at our head office in Leeds city centre. Our ideal candidate will have excellent client care skills, work well under pressure and have experience of working in a similar role. The role involves administrative tasks, supporting solicitors and fee earners directly with clients and with the preparation and presentation of cases in both the Magistrates' Court and Crown Court. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about developing their career in criminal defence work.

KEY DUTIES
  • Providing support to fee earners, solicitors and partners.
  • Running a case load of client matters under supervision where appropriate.
  • Dealing with matters at all stages, from taking the client's initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures.
  • Liaising with clients and other parties on behalf of fee earners and dealing with enquiries as appropriate.
  • Obtaining and preparing file documentation.
  • Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients, the Legal Aid Agency and other parties.

  • Ability to present and argue a case orally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with technical details and to express solutions to complex legal problems in a concise and customer-friendly way.
  • Ability to work accurately in accordance with the requirements of each team.

  • 1+ years Previous experience in a similar role.
