Responsibilities:
- Assisting solicitors and executives with matters at all stages of wills and probate transactions, from file opening to archiving in accordance with office and accounts procedures.
- Obtaining and preparing file documentation.
- Keeping clients and other parties updated on progress of matters.
- Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties.
- Maintaining legal knowledge and skills.
- Contributing to maintaining and improving office procedures.
- Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
- Performing any other duties required by the firm.
Qualifications:
- Excellent client care.
- Ability to organise and prioritise work under supervision to meet client expectations and matter deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to present and argue a case orally and in writing.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.
- Ability to deal with enquiries in a customer-friendly and effective manner.
- Confident and accurate communication skills.
- IT proficiency.
Experience:
- Experience in a law firm is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience in wills and probate is an advantage.
Other Requirements:
- Flexible and can-do attitude.
- Excellent written English to produce documents for clients, other parties and third parties.
- Good spoken English to resolve telephone enquiries.
- Satisfactory absence record or sound justification for high absenteeism.
- Able to promote the image of the firm.
Salary and Location:
Salary will depend on the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
