We are here to advance human health by re-imagining drug discovery with the power and pace of artificial intelligence.

The future is coming, enabled and enriched by the incredible power of machine learning. Diseases could be curtailed or cured through faster, better drug discovery.

Our values support this future. They help us bring it closer and foster an inspiring, collaborative culture. The world we want tomorrow starts with the culture at this company, and with you.

About Iso

Isomorphic Labs (IsoLabs), founded in 2021 and led by Sir Demis Hassabis, aims to usher in a new era of biomedical breakthroughs and find cures for devastating diseases.

Building on the success of Google DeepMind’s AlphaFold, we are developing state-of-the-art technologies to accelerate and improve drug design and discovery. We have created a leading drug design engine with foundational AI models working across multiple therapeutic areas and drug modalities, continuously innovating to advance rational drug design.

Your impact

You will be a core member of the Structural Bioinformatics team, addressing challenging drug discovery problems at proteome-wide scales. Your role involves applying and developing ML methods to characterize and interrogate the proteome, studying protein folds, functions, and interactions to design novel therapeutics. You will develop strategies related to druggability, selectivity, and toxicity across all protein classes.

The team collaborates with ML, Engineering, Product, and Drug Discovery teams, providing scientific expertise and strategic guidance to develop our platform and solve complex drug design problems. Joining now offers a significant opportunity for personal growth and technical development.

What you will do

  • Combine your expertise in bioinformatics/cheminformatics and structural biology with internal ML models to identify novel drug targets, explore protein functions, and characterize ligandability.
  • Design in silico experiments to evaluate platform performance at a proteome-wide scale.
  • Collaborate with the Exploratory Sciences team on emerging datasets and modalities, potentially leading to new projects.
  • Work with internal and external multidisciplinary teams to support data-driven scientific solutions.
  • Analyze and interpret data from active drug discovery projects.
  • Prepare scientific proposals, presentations, and reports.
  • Support and promote our culture of inclusion and continuous professional development.

Skills and qualifications

  • Experience with ML models and tools relevant to drug discovery.
  • Experience working with protein structures, peptides, or small molecule data.
  • Ph.D. in structural biology, bioinformatics, computational biology, chemistry, cheminformatics, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Broad knowledge of bioinformatics, computational biology, chemistry, cheminformatics, and ML methods.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the human proteome, including protein functions and folds, and characterization methods.
  • Experience in pharma or biotech drug discovery projects.
  • Experience with Structure-Based Drug Design.
  • Publication record in relevant scientific literature.

Culture and values

Our shared values guide our work and strengthen our culture:

Thoughtful: Curiosity, creativity, and care, with rigorous, future-oriented science.

Brave: Fearlessness, initiative, and integrity to meet challenges.

Determined: Confidence in hypotheses, with urgency and agility to deliver results.

Together: Collaboration across fields, recognizing that transformation is a group effort with real impact.

Creating an extraordinary company

We value diverse skills and backgrounds, fostering collaboration and shared learning. We are committed to equal employment opportunities and support a hybrid work model, requiring presence in the office 3 days a week (Tues, Wed, and one other day). If you have additional needs, we are happy to discuss accommodations.

When applying, your data will be processed per our privacy policy. Salary expectations are optional. Please share any other relevant information. Are you willing to relocate to the UK or Switzerland? Please indicate. Lastly, tell us where you heard about IsoLabs, and provide demographic info if you wish, noting it is voluntary and anonymized.
