We’re seeking a Senior Research Investigator specializing in biologics drug development to contribute to the pharmacology and translational biology strategy of our novel large molecule therapeutics, harnessing the transformative power of our cutting‑edge AI drug design engine. This role requires a blend of scientific expertise and intellectual curiosity to explore uncharted therapeutic design territory.
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and oversee comprehensive pharmacology plans for large molecule therapeutics.
- Lead the design and execution of in vivo efficacy and complex in vitro functional assays to ensure high‑quality data generation.
- Act as the Biology Lead for assigned projects, coordinating complex internal workflows and external CROs to efficiently progress candidates toward critical go/no‑go decisions and program milestones.
- Collaborate with computational biology and design teams to identify, evaluate, and bring new biologics projects into the portfolio, assessing biological feasibility and therapeutic potential.
- Partner closely with interdisciplinary teams (ML, Biology, CompBio) to build our generative AI platform, ensuring the pharmacology data generated is effectively fed back into design loops and deployed to discover novel therapeutic strategies.
Qualifications
- PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a biotech or pharma setting.
- Strong scientific expertise and in‑depth understanding of disease models used in biologics drug development.
- Significant experience designing and executing studies that support project progression in biologics drug discovery and development.
- Experience in immunology, inflammation, or oncology therapeutic areas.
- Proficiency with modalities such as multispecifics or antibody‑drug conjugates (ADCs).
- Proven ability to foster and manage external collaborations with CROs and academic groups.
- Passion for applying AI/ML to drug design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, collaborative teams.
- Track record of creative problem solving in drug discovery with a growth mindset, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new concepts and techniques.
Nice to Have
- Experience leveraging machine learning or computational biology techniques for biologics design and optimisation.
- Experience in antibody discovery, engineering, and optimisation strategies.
- In‑depth understanding of protein structure‑function relationships of antibodies.
