Join our expanding Exploratory Sciences team, focused on tackling proteins which are critical for disease biology but traditionally considered intractable. We work at the interface of machine learning, chemical biology and drug discovery to apply our platform to some of the toughest problems in drug discovery, collaborating closely with multiple teams across IsoLabs. We have a strong growth mindset and prioritise continued development and learning as we hope to build the next generation of drug discovery scientists. We are expanding our multi-disciplinary Peptides team within Exploratory Sciences, recruiting talented scientists to drive projects toward the clinic. This role is for an In-vitro / Cellular Pharmacologist specialising in peptides, within the Exploratory Sciences Biology team.
This role is ideal for experienced In-vitro / Cellular Pharmacologists with significant working knowledge of biophysical, biochemical and/or cell-based functional assays, and extensive experience providing quantitative in-vitro pharmacology expertise, especially within peptide-based drug discovery projects. You will deliver the development and application of a state-of-the-art peptide design platform, applying our platform in novel ways and driving portfolio projects toward the clinic. You will design and execute bold strategies to tackle problems that are currently considered impossible.

What You Will Do
- Design efficient and comprehensive biological screening cascades for internal and partnered peptide drug design programs.
- Work with CROs to design decision-making experiments, and deliver high-quality biological data to inform the path to the clinic.
- Collaborate internally and with third-party organisations, interacting with multidisciplinary teams to support data-driven delivery of high-quality scientific solutions.
- Represent the company externally, engaging with existing and prospective collaborators and contract research organisations (CROs).
- Prepare detailed scientific proposals and reports to support new and ongoing programs.

Skills And Qualifications (Essential)
- PhD, MSc or BSc in Biology or a related technical field, or equivalent industrial experience.
- 3+ years professional experience in a Biology role, in biotech/pharma or a Post Doc position.
- Experience designing and implementing biological screening cascades applied to drug design projects, from hit identification to candidate selection.
- Experience characterising peptide molecules for drug discovery applications.
- Working knowledge of experimental in-vitro pharmacology techniques including biophysical, biochemical and/or cellular assays.
- Experience working with CROs to acquire and interpret high-quality biological data in a timely manner.
- Dynamic, agile, and flexible approach with ability to work across multiple projects and therapeutic areas.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment.
- Track record of creative problem solving with a growth mindset, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new concepts and techniques.
Nice to have
- Experience leading biology within drug discovery programs, ideally from inception to clinical candidate delivery.
- Structural biology and/or display-based techniques for peptide HitID.
- Experience working with Data Science groups on ingesting biological data.
- Track record contributing to drug design projects delivering Clinical Candidates.
- General knowledge of machine learning modelling applied to biological systems and drug discovery.
- Experience of target identification, validation and selection approaches.
- Track record of authorship of relevant scientific manuscripts.
- Experience coding in Python, or willingness to learn in role.
