About Iso
Isomorphic Labs (IsoLabs) was founded in 2021 and is led by Sir Demis Hassabis. Our aim is to usher in a new era of biomedical breakthroughs and find cures for some of humanity’s devastating diseases.
Our foundations are built on the success of Google DeepMind’s AlphaFold, but we didn’t stop there! We are continuing to develop and implement state-of-the-art technologies as we move towards our goal of dramatically accelerating and improving the process of designing and bringing new medicines to patients.
We have built a world-leading drug design engine comprising foundational AI models that are capable of working across multiple therapeutic areas and drug modalities. The company is continually innovating on model architecture and developing cutting-edge capabilities to advance rational drug design.
Your impact
This is a pivotal role for a highly organised, detailed orientated operator to own and continue to build our People Operations function. We’re looking for a commercial and holistic thinker who will be the go-to expert for building the systems, processes and programs that allow us to scale correctly, in line with our business goals and progress towards our mission. Blending high-level strategy with hands-on execution, you will elevate our operational capabilities, lead a small team and establish a world class function that delivers an outstanding employee experience to drive business performance.
What you will do
- Work in partnership with the People Team leads, defining the strategy and owning the execution of the People Experience and Operations function. Working closely with the People Director, you’ll strive for continual improvement and proactively design and implement operations systems and processes that enable the smooth and efficient delivery of People team support to the organisation
- Lead on the development and roll out of our core employee lifecycle programmes: For example, Reflection and Development Discussions, our Promotion Model, collaborating with the wider People Team to foster growth and engagement.
- Own and optimise our employee onboarding and offboarding processes: Build and maintain these processes. Ensure a smooth and welcoming start for new hires, setting them up for long term success in a high performing environment, and a respectful, efficient departure for leavers.
- Go-to for people operations support: Act as the first point of contact for employee people-related queries, partnering with the wider People team to provide timely and knowledgeable support on policies and procedures.
- Support with wider programmes and workstreams focussed on employee experience: Play a key role in leading on programmes that drive a mission-aligned experience for all employees at Iso.
- Data and Insights: Leverage data and analytics to provide insights; use your analytical skills to drive decisions and identify opportunities for streamlining or automating processes, to help us scale effectively.
- Manage and mentor the People Operations Specialist: fostering a culture of excellence, proactivity, and high performance within the team.
Skills and qualifications
- You are an experienced, People Operations professional who can design, build and scale the operations function from an early stage.
- You can demonstrate a track record of implementing core operational processes across the entire employee lifecycle (examples may include onboarding, offboarding, performance cycles)
- You bring strategic thinking, an understanding of commercial goals and designing people processes aligned with overall business goals.
- You are a proactive self starter – experience identifying operational gaps and proactively proposing and implementing creative and business focused solutions.
- You have experience managing and mentoring direct reports, setting a high bar for performance and fostering a team culture of excellence and collaboration.
- You are proficient using data analytics to generate insights and inform decisions. You can show examples of how you\’ve used data to improve and streamline processes.
- Your organisational skills and commitment to quality and detail mean you care deeply about how things are done, but can also drive projects forward with pace, balancing rigor with pragmatism.
- You are equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and diving into the operational details; you thrive in a dynamic environment and understand that, in a scaling team, everyone needs to be hands-on.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth company.
Nice to have:
- Experience in the technology or biotech industry.
