Isometric is the AI-native certifier of climate solutions. We combine scientific rigor with best-in-class technology to unlock the capital and trust needed to reverse climate change. Our customers, including Microsoft and Google, trust us to help them avoid greenwashing. We’re looking for doers with a bias to action. Our team is brilliant and cares (a lot). Join us for the most impactful role of your career—and the best job you’ve ever had.

What is the job?

Bring CBAM and carbon border compliance expertise to a fast-moving new domain. Help us go 0→1 on CBAM verification. You'll be our in-house authority on how embedded emissions are actually calculated, monitored and reported under the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism—and you'll bring the rigour and defensibility Isometric is known for.

  • Run deep discovery with exporters, importers, VVBs and the market.
  • Get out and talk to non-EU exporters of CBAM goods, EU importers, and verification bodies (VVBs).
  • Map where today's reporting and verification falls short, where the real measurement problems live, and where a trustworthy, AI-powered platform can make accredited verification dramatically faster and cheaper.

Pressure-test what good looks like. Work with our science, product and commercial teams to explore how CBAM verification could be measured and verified more rigorously—building on the same Certify architecture we use for carbon removal. Stress-test ideas against real monitoring plans and submissions, and learn fast from exporters, importers and VVB partners.

Help us win our first customers and VVB partnerships. Work alongside the commercial team to frame the value prop, get in front of exporters, importers and VVBs, and translate technical rigour into reports and assessments that decision-makers trust and pay for. You're as comfortable producing the work as you are selling why it matters.

Things we're looking for:

  • Deep CBAM and carbon border compliance fluency. You understand CBAM at a technical level (embedded emissions methodology, default values vs. verified actuals, monitoring plans, the covered sectors—steel, iron, aluminium, cement, fertiliser, hydrogen and electricity) ideally from time spent advising exporters and importers, working in-house on compliance, or verifying/auditing on behalf of a VVB.
  • Carbon accounting and verification rigour. You're fluent in embedded emissions accounting (direct and indirect), EU ETS benchmarking, and accredited verification standards, and the hard parts: data quality tiers, the default-value ramp-down through 2030, and where the numbers get gamed.
  • A track record of real delivery. You've produced work the industry takes seriously. You've helped exporters or importers prepare CBAM declarations, pass verification, or navigate accreditation—or you've consulted closely enough to do so.
  • High agency, commercially minded. You can independently figure out a new area and drive it forward under high ambiguity, with a strong bias to action. You're obsessive about discovery and you're a compelling partner to the commercial team in framing the offer and winning over first customers and VVB partners.
