English Linguist

We’re seeking an English speaker with formal training in phonetics to create phonetic transcriptions for a provided list of words.

Duration: 6 October – 30 October 2025 (remote)

Hours: Up to 35 hours total

Rate: $26 USD/hour

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate phonetic transcriptions for given word lists.
• Follow project style guidelines; maintain consistency across entries.
• Flag ambiguities/variants (e.g., dialectal, morphological) according to the brief.
• Perform self-QC and revise based on reviewer feedback.

Requirements

• English speaker.
• Degree or formal coursework in Linguistics/Phonetics (or equivalent experience).
• Strong command of English phonology (stress, vowel quality, allophony).
• Detail-oriented; able to document edge cases clearly.

Engagement & pay

• Contract, remote.
• $26 USD/hour
• Tooling and guidelines provided.
