Position Summary
The Quality Engineer / Quality Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and continuously improving ISOBAR's Quality Management System (QMS) while supporting quality assurance activities across product design, development, manufacturing, fulfilment, and customer service functions. This role combines quality engineering expertise with quality system administration and plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage quality documentation and records, support audits and certification activities, investigate non-conformances, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management System (QMS)
- Maintain, administer, and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Manage document control processes, including procedures, work instructions, specifications, forms, and records.
- Coordinate periodic reviews and updates of quality documentation.
- Monitor QMS performance metrics and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Support the implementation of best-practice quality processes across all business functions.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Plan and support internal, customer, supplier, and third-party audits.
- Assist in maintaining quality certifications and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Conduct process and product quality reviews to ensure conformity with specifications.
- Monitor quality performance indicators and prepare management reports.
- Support risk assessment, risk management, and mitigation activities.
- Ensure traceability and record retention requirements are maintained.
- Non-Conformance & Corrective Action Management
- Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, supplier concerns, and non-conforming products.
- Facilitate root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness.
- Monitor recurring issues and recommend systemic improvements.
- Track and report quality trends and key performance indicators.
- Product Development & Manufacturing Support
- Collaborate with design, product development, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are embedded throughout the product lifecycle.
- Participate in design reviews, product validation, and verification activities.
- Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
- Assist with supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
- Contribute to new product introduction (NPI) and process improvement projects.
- Continuous Improvement
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar improvement initiatives.
- Deliver quality awareness and training activities across the business.
- Support digitalisation and automation initiatives related to quality management.
Essential Requirements
- Qualifications
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Textile Technology, or a related discipline.
- Formal quality qualification or professional certification is desirable.
- Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a quality engineering, quality assurance, or quality administration role.
- Experience maintaining and improving Quality Management Systems.
- Experience supporting audits and certification activities.
- Experience investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with regulated products or industries is advantageous.
- Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and quality assurance principles.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Experience with ISO 13485, CE/UKCA compliance, or regulated healthcare environments would be highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organisational capability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
