Islip Medical Practice is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team. We are a well-established, forward-thinking dispensing practice located in a rural village just 5 miles from Oxford, serving a patient population of approximately 7,000, including one nursing home. Our patient per GP list size is significantly lower than the national average of 2,228. We are part of the KIWY Primary Care Network (Kidlington, Islip, Woodstock and Yarnton), providing access to a wide multidisciplinary team and shared learning opportunities. The PCN Clinical Director is also a Partner at the practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking to work in a collaborative environment that prioritises both high-quality patient care and staff wellbeing.
Main duties of the job
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred general practice care
- Undertake a mix of face-to-face and remote consultations
- Manage a varied clinical caseload, including patients in a local nursing home
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team within the practice and PCN
- Participate in clinical triage using the Accurx system
- Contribute to practice development and quality improvement initiatives
About us
We are a training practice hosting GP registrars throughout the academic year and we are committed to continuous learning and development. Our team includes: 7 GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager, Experienced reception and administrative team, Experienced dispensary team. Through our PCN, we also benefit from a wider team including a Clinical Pharmacist, GP Assistant and a Mental Health Team (dedicated Mental Health Practitioner and MIND workers for adults and children). District Nurses are co-located on site, enhancing collaborative patient care. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive working environment and maintaining a strong focus on staff wellbeing. We operate within BMA safe working guidance.

- 15-minute pre-bookable appointments
- All appointments triaged by a clinician prior to booking

Experience
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and licence to practise
- Inclusion on the NHS Performers List
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
