We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Business Development Manager to accelerate growth across key UK (Southern Region) B2B channels. This role will focus on identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities, while also expanding existing accounts through value‑led solutions and long‑term partnerships. You will be instrumental in driving revenue growth, increasing market share and strengthening Prima’s presence across cash & carry, wholesale, food distribution and food & beverage sectors. Reporting directly to the Senior Commercial Manager, this is a highly visible role offering autonomy, influence and the opportunity to have real impact on the commercial direction of the business.

Duties:

  • Proactively identify, target and convert new business opportunities
  • Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company growth objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers across target markets
  • Expand existing customer accounts by identifying upsell and cross‑sell opportunities
  • Manage and maintain an active sales pipeline using Salesforce CRM
  • Represent Prima professionally at trade shows, exhibitions and industry events
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer insights to inform strategy

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a business development or new business sales role
  • Background within cash & carry, wholesale, food distribution or the food & beverage sector
  • Demonstrable success in achieving and exceeding sales and revenue targets
  • Strong commercial acumen with a solution‑focused mindset
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Confident negotiating at buyer and senior stakeholder level
  • Strong IT skills and experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
