We are seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join the Lighting and Traffic Engineering service on a permanent basis. As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you will form an integral part of the team delivering the traffic engineering programme in Islington, carrying out but not limited to design, estimation, project management and site supervision of a range of schemes including public realm, cycleway, liveable neighbourhood and general traffic schemes.

Responsibilities

  • Line manager responsibilities of junior staff
  • Regularly liaising with internal and external stakeholders including Council departments, contractors, utility companies, developers, police, members of the public and other organisations as deemed necessary
  • Working closely with the term maintenance contractor to deliver a successful borough wide programme of high-profile schemes
  • Working under the Traffic Manager and Principal Engineers, helping deliver Islington Council's Traffic and Engineering programme
  • Deliver the best schemes possible as a competent, technical and team player
