About The Role

We are looking for a Reward Partner (Job Families) to join our Pay and Reward Team on a fixed‑term contract until June 2028, working on the Job Architecture project, which forms part of the Council’s wider Pay & Reward Programme. This role supports the design, implementation and embedding of Islington Council’s Job Families Framework, helping to ensure fairness, consistency and transparency.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and quality assurance of job family descriptors, level criteria and guidance
  • Analyse roles and support the mapping of jobs into job families
  • Support the full job evaluation lifecycle, including evidence preparation, panels and moderation
  • Produce clear guidance, FAQs, process maps and training materials
  • Provide first‑line specialist advice to managers and HR colleagues
  • Maintain accurate records, audit trails and version control to ensure quality and compliance

Qualifications

You will have experience working in reward, job evaluation or a related HR environment, with a strong understanding of job evaluation principles and equal pay. You’ll be analytical, detail‑focused and confident explaining technical concepts clearly, with a collaborative and supportive approach.

Job evaluation training, experience drafting guidance, or knowledge of local government HR practice would be an advantage.
