An opportunity to join the fostering service for Social Workers has arisen. We have two full-time, permanent posts available in the fostering service.
Key responsibilities for the role are:
- Support and Supervise Foster Carers: You will provide ongoing support and guidance to your dedicated caseload of foster families, helping them to navigate the challenges and rewards of fostering. You will conduct regular supervision visits, offer practical advice and ensure that carers are well-equipped to provide the best possible care.
- Assess and Train Carers: You will conduct assessments on prospective carers and current foster carers. It is important that you ensure our carers meet regulatory standards and are prepared to meet the diverse needs of the children they care for.
- Coordinate and Monitor Care Plans: Working closely with other professionals, children and families, you will develop and monitor care plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each child. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that these plans are implemented effectively and adapted as needed.
- Advocate for Children: You will act as a strong advocate for the children in our care, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are met. You’ll collaborate with other professionals in looked after children’s teams, virtual school and CAMHS to ensure that children receive the support and services they require.
- Ensure Compliance: It is crucial to maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and ensure that all your practices comply with these standards. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high standards of care and practice.
- Foster Relationships: Relationships are key so you will build strong and trusting relationships with foster carers, children, and other stakeholders. Your ability to communicate effectively and empathetically will be essential in creating a positive and supportive environment.
