About the Role

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in Islington? We’re offering a 12-month secondment/fixed term contract for the role of Executive Members Support Manager, where you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our Council Leader and Executive Members.

As Executive Members Support Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage the Executive Member Support Team, helping to deliver reliable, confidential, and high-quality support to our Council Leader and Executive Members.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture, promoting our ‘Be Islington’ values: collaborative, ambitious, resourceful, and empowering.
  • Ensure the team provides seamless administrative support, including diary management, casework, and correspondence.
  • Drive service improvement projects, integrating new processes and ways of working to enhance the executive members support.
  • Oversee, manage and support with members enquiries and the system used for the logging and the management of members enquiries.

This secondment is for 6 months and will help make an impact on our organisation and the councillors we support. So, if you’re ready for a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Please note: Priority will be given to those at risk of redundancy within Islington Council. Current employees who are part of the redeployment pool must meet the essential criteria for shortlisting to be prioritised.
