About The Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? Join us as an Early Help Attendance Mentor! In this role, you will provide targeted support to children and young people who are persistently absent from school. Your proactive and assertive approach will help improve and sustain their attendance through effective individual and group interventions.

Bright Futures is dedicated to empowering children and families within our community. We operate through three locality teams, providing integrated support to help families reach their full potential and build resilience. Our goal is to improve long-term outcomes for all families in Islington.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve school attendance.
  • Provide short-term, intensive one-to-one support to students with persistent absenteeism.
  • Identify the reasons behind poor attendance and create personalised strategies to address these issues.
  • Collaborate with school staff, conduct home visits, and engage with parents and young people to foster a supportive environment.
  • Work alongside practitioners already involved in a child’s life to enhance attendance.
  • Monitor and report on attendance patterns and progress.

  • Experience of working with children and families in an educational or social care setting.

This post is front line and to meet the needs of children and young people successful candidates are required to work in borough 5 days per week.
