Cardfields is a residential outdoor centre based in Essex. We provide recreational and outdoor educational use for schools and community groups and have facilities for private hire. We are seeking a Cook to join the team on a permanent basis. This role is not based in London. We are a busy centre serving children, young people, and adults from diverse communities. The surrounding area offers opportunities to get out and about, with attractions such as Colchester Castle and Colchester Zoo nearby.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to our menu standards.
  • Use produce grown in the gardens where possible.
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area.
  • Work efficiently under pressure during busy services.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment.
  • A valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Strong attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to business needs.
  • Able to budget and portion control.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, if required.
