We are looking for an experienced and motivated Energy Manager to lead our approach across heat networks, metering and billing, solar PV assets, and bulk energy procurement. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in reducing carbon emissions, improving energy performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering better value and outcomes for our residents.
About the role
- Lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of communal heating and heat network services, including tariff setting, performance monitoring and resident billing oversight.
- Oversee metering and billing arrangements to ensure accurate data collection, transparent charges, strong supplier performance and effective resolution of complex queries.
- Manage ISHA’s solar PV and other renewable energy assets, driving performance, compliance and the development of new low-carbon opportunities.
- Lead the procurement and contract management of bulk gas and electricity supplies, securing best value while managing market risk, budgets and forecasting.
- Analyse energy data and produce clear reports to support decision-making, statutory reporting and continuous improvement in energy performance.
- Support ISHA’s decarbonisation and sustainability goals by identifying and delivering practical initiatives that reduce emissions, tackle fuel poverty and improve residents’ homes.
About you
- Someone who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative, resident-focused approach, and who will champion inclusion, safety, compliance and flexibility in the way they work.
- An experienced energy professional with a strong track record of managing energy requirements within a housing association or similar environment.
- Someone with solid technical knowledge of heat networks, communal heating systems, metering and billing services, and wider energy compliance requirements.
- A confident analyst who can interpret complex energy data, identify opportunities for improvement, and support sound operational and commercial decision-making.
- An excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, able to explain complex information clearly to colleagues, residents, suppliers and partners.
- A well-organised and adaptable individual who can manage competing priorities, work flexibly, and respond to changing organisational needs.
- A person who actively promotes equity, diversity and inclusion, while maintaining high standards of health and safety, data protection and professional responsibility.
Why join ISHA?
- A genuinely community-based and values-led organisation
- Strong social purpose and commitment to affordable housing
- New corporate strategy and clear organisational ambition with a commitment to growth in our heartlands
- Opportunity to shape finance, technology and organisational improvement
- Flexible and supportive working culture with hybrid working arrangements
- Competitive pension and benefits package
