Job Description
The South West Provider Collaborative is hosted by Devon Partnership NHS Trust, who act as a leading provider for the organisation. We currently commission specialised mental health and learning disability and autism services valuing c£150m.
This is a unique opportunity to experience a senior leadership role within the commissioning division on a secondment or fixed term contract basis until 1st July 2025. The post is being advertised due to a recent temporary change within the team. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director, Strategic Planning, the post holder will take direction from both the Assistant Director, Strategic Planning and the Deputy Programme Director, in order to deliver projects within the programme of work across the South West of England.
Main Duties of the Job
This role involves providing essential support to the team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for handling administrative tasks, managing communications, and coordinating various activities. This includes scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing resources to support the efficient functioning of the team.
You will work closely with colleagues to maintain an organised workflow, assisting with project coordination, and contributing to the delivery of services. The position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can manage competing priorities and work well within a collaborative environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead projects to ensure successful outcomes are achieved for the South West Provider Collaboratives application to NHS England/Improvement those services that can be delegated to Provider Collaboratives.
- Oversee, lead or support on distinct projects and/or programmes, as identified by the Assistant Director, Strategic Planning.
- Act as the Senior Responsible Officer for the South West Provider collaborative Patient Flow System.
- Manage and lead the organisations approach to business intelligence and performance, supporting the Provider Collaborative to articulate its progress against key KPIs and service line/organisational performance.
- Assisting in the design and delivery of business cases and annual and longer-term plans, feeding into the organisational overall Annual Plan in line with our South West Provider Collaboratives aims.
- Assisting in the delivery of assessing and refining the clinical needs-analysis, and articulating the commissioning response that feeds into commissioning plans and ambitions.
- Developing and maintaining positive key relationships across the South West, and at a regional and national level, with relevant organisations.
- Assisting in the development of improvement programmes aimed at addressing quality, performance and service issues in order to support ongoing transformation and improvement.
- Ensuring that plans that require programme support are identified and supported to a positive conclusion.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
- Specialist knowledge in Project Management.
- Extensive knowledge of further specialist areas would also be advantageous, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training.
- Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
Experience
- Evidence of extensive successful experience of project management.
- Evidence of advanced report writing skills, service planning, needs analysis, and presentation skills.
- Developing and implementing strategic plans within a complex environment.
- Demonstrate experience of autonomous leadership of transformational change.
- Significant experience in working in senior management role within healthcare.
- Working within a senior position in a New Care Model and/or Provider Collaborative.
