Job Summary
We are seeking Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) for our Specialist Eating Disorders Unit in Exeter, Devon. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and passionate team at the Haldon Unit, a 10‑bed unit that operates on a 24/7 shift basis.
Role
As a Band 5 RMN you will be part of an interdisciplinary team, working flexibly within a 24‑hour, 7‑day rota. The role offers the chance to develop clinical leadership skills as the Nurse in Charge, support patients at mealtimes, and learn additional clinical skills such as NG feeding.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate patient care in a 24/7 environment.
- Demonstrate sound clinical decision‑making and lead the ward as Nurse in Charge when required.
- Support and supervise junior staff through direct supervision and shift leading.
- Attend newly designed eating disorder induction to expand knowledge and skills.
- Work flexibly, participating in the internal 24‑hour, 7‑day a week rota.
- Collaborate effectively with a multi‑disciplinary team.
Qualifications
Essential
- RMN / Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with current registration.
- Experience working as a Band 5 RMN.
- Willingness to complete Trust mandatory courses, including Physical Interventions training (adjustments considered if required).
Desirable
- Experience of working with people with an eating disorder.
