Job Description:
This is an opportunity to work as a Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist in a 10PA job with the Exeter Liaison Psychiatry Team in Devon Partnership NHS Trust.
The well-established Core 24 model team works with The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to provide mental health care to people admitted to the hospital or attending the Emergency Department.
The team is also working into an Integrated Psychological Medicine Service in partnership with Talkworks (IAPT), Health Psychology and Medical and Surgical Specialties developing and contributing to care pathways for people with functional and chronic conditions.
The team is established with Multidisciplinary professionals including Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Liaison Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrists and Trainee Doctors.
We work in a modernised setting in the attractive listed building of Wonford House Hospital in central Exeter, within a short minutes walk to the Acute Hospital entrance and additional designated rooms within the DGH.
Main duties of the job:
The role is to provide senior clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary Liaison Psychiatry service, with opportunities for development and clinical leadership in the Integrated Psychological Medicine Service. The post holder will be expected to engage in the service governance programme and service improvement projects. The role is well supported by all levels of trainee medical staff and there will be provision of supervision to these staff and additionally opportunity to engage in teaching and training of medical students. Research interests are encouraged and we have links with The University of Exeter and a close connection with our own R&D team that we are co-located with at Wonford House Hospital.
