Devon Partnership Trust invites applications for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Exeter West Community Mental Health Team (CMHT, 6 PAs) and the Place of Safety (Wonford House Hospital, 4 PAs) in the General Adult Directorate. This full-time post supports patients aged 18-65; part-time or job-share applicants are welcome. The post is based at Wonford House, Exeter, with private office space, IT access and dedicated secretarial support.
You will oversee a caseload of around 300 patients and conduct 12–15 medical assessments per week. You will also provide Responsible Clinician cover for the Devon-wide Place of Safety, supporting detained patients awaiting placement.
The Trust offers a good work–life balance, agile working including hybrid remote arrangements, and opportunities for research, teaching, medical management and other interests. Mentorship, peer support and electronic record systems are provided, along with 2.5 SPAs weekly for professional development.
This role may suit first-time NHS consultants, experienced psychiatrists or international applicants. Approved Clinician status is preferred but training can be provided if required.
