Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Registered mental health or learning disability nurse
- Understanding of NSF Mental Health Act/MH Capacity Act; CPA; recovery principles in Mental Health
- Ability to provide and receive complex sensitive information with staff, service users, families and carers
- Ability to assess and manage risk, lead and supervise staff, and manage time effectively
- Good liaison skills and ability to manage difficult and complex situations
- Flexibility in work patterns; ability to work without direct supervision
Desirable
- Knowledge of rehabilitation services
- Mentorship training; management and leadership training
Experience
Essential
- Substantial post-registration experience as a Band 5 in an acute/rehab inpatient setting; ability to manage complex clinical situations; experience supporting junior staff or students
- Experience contributing to risk assessment and management plans
- Ability to apply clinical governance and evidence-based practice
- Experience working within an MDT; clinical supervision and mentoring experience; experience of managing staff; successful completion of Preceptorship; ability to work without direct supervision
Desirable
- Leadership or management training
- Experience of completing audit work
