As a Steward aboard the Scillonian III passenger ferry, you’ll play a key role in delivering outstanding service to passengers travelling to and from the Isles of Scilly.
Working hours:
- Full-time: 4 days on / 2 days off
- Shifts: 12.5-hour day (typically 9.5 hours on duty, between 07:30 to 19:30, including free time on the Isles of Scilly)
- Flexibility: Overtime and extra shifts available, dependent on the ship’s schedule
- Schedule: Monday to Sunday
- Accommodation: No onboard accommodation provided
Key responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain the Western Rocks Café Bars on board
- Deliver exceptional passenger and catering services
- Be a member of the vessel’s emergency response party
- Ensure compliance with ship security and safety procedures
Qualifications and skills:
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A positive attitude and flexibility regarding working hours
- The right to work in the UK
- Must hold
- STCW Personal Survival Techniques (PST)
- STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR)
Additional requirements:
- Must pass an ENG1 medical examination
- Must be willing to pass a drug test
- Hold, or be willing to obtain quickly:
- STCWCrowd Management Training
- STCW ElementaryFirst Aid or higher
- Level 2Food Hygiene
- Disability Awareness and Assistance Training
- Alcohol License Awareness
