Western Rocks Café, located at Lands End Airport is open to the public, serving both Skybus passengers and visitors to the area.

The café takes pride in offering homemade, locally sourced food whenever possible. The team has successfully introduced a hot food menu and are eager to continue this success through the winter months.

Our café operates in a fast-paced environment, catering to passengers with limited time at the airport.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a dedicated part-time café assistant to join our current team of three.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in both the kitchen and front of house. We can offer an average of 25 hours per week, with shifts scheduled Monday to Friday, and occasional Saturday shifts as per the monthly rota.

Due to our remote location, candidates must have their own transport or live nearby. There is an opportunity for a café assistant shift leader role for suitable candidates, which will be discussed during the interview process.

Please note that we are unable to offer holiday time off for this position, but all accrued holiday pay will be compensated at the end of the contract period. Days off requests will be considered as needed.

More about the role

This winter position is a fixed-term contract from 1st November 2025 – 31st March 2026.

The rate of pay will be discussed during the interview.

Candidates must be comfortable working independently, as there may be times when you are the only team member present in the café.

The role requires someone who can effectively work in both the kitchen and front of house. Kitchen experience is essential, while front of house experience is not required, as full training will be provided in both areas.

  • Prepare and deliver hot and cold food to agreed standards daily
  • Order products as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen through daily cleaning routines
  • Uphold good practices to maintain the café’s 5-star food hygiene rating

Front of House Responsibilities:

  • Provide polite, friendly, and efficient service to customers
  • Clean and maintain the café throughout the day
  • Ensure the café and gift shop is fully stocked

Preferred qualifications

Ideally, candidates must possess current qualifications in the following areas, full training will be provided if not:

  • Food Hygiene Level 2 or above
  • First Aid Certification
