Location: Isle of Wight Youth Trust, Newport and across the Isle of Wight community

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term

Are you passionate about making sure young people get the right help at the right time? The Isle of Wight Youth Trust is seeking a motivated and experienced Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Coordinator to lead the delivery and development of our IAG service for young people aged 16–25.

In this role, you will combine direct support, service coordination and innovation, ensuring young people receive timely, accurate and personalised information, advice and guidance through a blended model of face-to-face and digital delivery. Working within a YIACS-informed, step-up / step-down framework, you will lead a small team of Hub Support Workers and use data, partnerships and youth voice to continuously improve the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the review and continuous improvement of IAG provision across all channels, including face-to-face support, calls, text chat, our website and community information kiosks
  • Deliver tailored one-to-one IAG support, including assessment, action planning and review, helping young people access education, employment, training and community opportunities
  • Provide line management, ongoing development support and quality assurance to a small team of Hub Support Workers
  • Support triage, allocation and smooth transitions between services, so young people access the support they need at the right time, first time
  • Work with our Comms team to develop and maintain an enhanced digital IAG offer, ensuring content is accurate, current and youth friendly
  • Facilitate group sessions that build young people’s skills, confidence and engagement
  • Lead effective use of our CRM system to record and track activity, manage demand and improve performance and reporting
  • Work with the Hub and Clinical Leads to maintain our Matrix accreditation and work towards further quality standards
  • Act as an ambassador for the Youth Trust, building multi-agency relationships and engaging with the Island community.

About You

  • Experienced in delivering Information, Advice and Guidance services, with experience of line management
  • A strong communicator with excellent listening and relationship-building skills
  • Empathetic, non-judgemental and youth-centred in your approach
  • Knowledgeable about the challenges faced by young people, with a sound understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection
  • Well organised, with strong case management skills and confident using IT systems, including CRM and MS Office
  • Proactive, resilient and positive, with a solution-focused approach
  • Collaborative and adaptable, comfortable working with partners and other agencies
  • Qualified to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • A Level 3 IAG qualification, experience of supporting young people (16–25) with barriers to education, employment or training, or knowledge of trauma-informed practice would be highly beneficial.

Additional Information

A full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS check (performed upon appointment) are requirements of the role. This is a fixed-term position which includes outreach, events and partnership working, and may involve occasional evening work.
