Main Purpose of Role
The repair and maintenance of plant and equipment, including Permanent Way motorised trolleys, on-track plant, excavators, tampers, brush cutters and other tools.
Principle Responsibilities
- Attending to defects and maintenance so that downtime on equipment is kept to a minimum.
- Ensuring all plant and equipment is regularly inspected in accordance with the relevant regulations.
- Keeping written records of maintenance and repair work carried out.
- Assisting with Permanent Way and S&T works as required.
About You
- Have the knowledge and competence to operate motorised trolleys, RRV’s and other engineer’s plant on the railway, including the use of signalling and telecommunications, ground frames.
- Have previous experience of maintaining plant, machinery, tools, trolleys, and other equipment.
- Have the ability and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and within a small team.
- Have a level of physical fitness necessary to undertake safety critical work.
- Have a flexible approach to working hours as evening and weekend work will sometimes be required.
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
