Catering Assistant β Contract term: Seasonal, April - October. Location: Havenstreet, Isle of Wight. Contract Type: Zero Hours. Salary: National Minimum Wage.
Main Purpose of Role
Come and join the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and be a part of a team that delivers an exceptional experience, amidst the charm of historic steam trains and beautiful scenery. As a Catering Assistant, you will work in any of our outlets as required, to provide great customer service and be proactive in ensuring that our customers have a positive, memorable, and inspiring dining experience. This will also include event catering.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of food and beverages
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the catering area
- Engage with customers and provide excellent service
- Be knowledgeable about menu items and particularly Allergens to assist customers who have an intolerance
About You
Weβre looking for enthusiastic individuals who:
- Have previous experience in a catering or hospitality environment, this is desirable but not essential
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Have their own transport as this is essential due to location
- Are a keen team player with a positive attitude
- Have the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Have flexibility to work varied hours including weekends, evenings and holidays
- Are highly organised with a strong attention to detail
- Are willing to learn, develop, and support continuous improvement
