We are seeking an exceptional, compassionate and forward-thinking Director of Nursing to join #TeamIOWNHS and play a central role in shaping the future of nursing, patient care and professional leadership across our Trust. About the Role
Working closely with and deputising for the Group Chief Nurse, you will provide senior leadership across the full Chief Nursing Officer portfolio, ensuring professional excellence, a strong safety culture, and effective clinical governance across the organisation. You will be a key member of the Trust's senior leadership team, working closely with the Medical Director, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Ambulance to ensure the safe effective day to day management of our hospital and ambulance service.
Main duties of the job
- Delivering and supporting nursing, midwifery and AHP strategies.
- Leading on quality, patient safety, safeguarding and clinical governance.
- Strengthening systems and processes to provide assurance of safe, high-quality care.
- Developing professional identity and leadership capability across the workforce.
- Influencing a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.
- Acting on behalf of the Group and the Isle of Wight NHS Trust, as required.

Person Specification
- Registered General Nurse
- Detailed knowledge of Clinical and Corporate Governance frameworks, legislation and best practice
- Masters Degree or equivalent
- Evidence of sustained personal and professional development
- Detailed knowledge of Clinical Quality and Safety methodologies
- Experienced safeguarding lead
