Keyresponsibilitiesinclude:

  • Provideeffectiveadministrativesupporttothegoverningboard,whichinvolvespreparingagendas in consultation with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher,
  • Conveningmeetings,takingandwritinguptheminutesanddistributingdocumentationandother information to Governors;
  • Efficientlyandsecurelymanagegovernorinformation
  • Provideadvicetothegoverningbodyongovernance,constitutionalandproceduralmatters,which you will learn as you develop into the role.

AtBembridgeCEPrimarySchoolwebelieveaClerktotheGoverningBoardplaysacriticalrole.Youneed tobeahighlyorganisedpersonwithattentiontodetail.Youwillhavegeneraladministrationexperience suchasminutetakingand meetingorganisation, be able todemonstrate adiplomatic approach to communicationandbeableto maintainconfidentiality.Specifictrainingongovernancewithin aschool will be provided.

GoverningBoardmeetingsusuallytakeplaceonsiteintheschool,intheafternoonsorevenings, although,somemaybeheldonlineviaMicrosoftTeams.Theroleishomebased,soitisessential thereforethattheClerkhasaccesstoacomputer/laptopandinternet.AttendanceisrequiredatGoverningBoardmeetingsandIOWLAbriefingSessions.
