This is a limited‑term appointment of 12 months for a senior paediatric position. The role requires a Registered Children’s Nurse to lead shifts, deliver hands‑on care to children and young people, act as a key worker, coordinate care, manage the ward and support the team in the absence of the Senior Sister or Charge Nurse. The successful candidate will use their experience to lead and develop others while maintaining high standards of care, support and supervise staff and students, contribute to clinical audit and service improvement, and apply knowledge of safeguarding, professional accountability and evidence‑based practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and deliver hands‑on care to children and young people.
  • Act as a key worker, coordinate care, manage the ward, and support the team in the absence of the Senior Sister or Charge Nurse.
  • Support and supervise staff and students, and contribute to clinical audit and service improvement.
  • Apply knowledge of safeguarding, professional accountability and evidence‑based practice to maintain high standards of care.
