About the role

Could you support children and young people with complex needs to enjoy meaningful, engaging experiences? As a Respite Support Worker at the Braddan Community Hub, you’ll support children and young people aged 0–18 with complex needs and physical/learning disabilities. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming environment where individuals feel supported, valued and able to take part in daily activities. You’ll be involved in planning and delivering personalised programmes, building strong relationships with families and professionals, and supporting development through both in‑house activities and visits within the community. Every day brings variety, from supporting play and learning to helping children engage with the world around them. Working as part of a small and supportive team, you’ll contribute to a service focused on delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care. Shift Pattern

This role will involve working 5 days a week Monday‑Sunday, with a mixture of daytime and evening shifts. Your earliest shift starts at 9am and the latest finish at 9pm (subject to change).

  • A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.
  • Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, the IOM Public Service offers two pension arrangements: the Isle of Man Government Unified Scheme 2011 or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) Arrangement.
  • 20 days annual leave which will increase after a number of years’ service and 10 Bank Holidays.
  • Access to the Isle of Man Public Service Cycle to Work scheme after your first year of employment.
  • Ability to apply for an unpaid career break after 3 years’ service.

  • Access to the Learning, Education and Development training facility, which is exclusively for Public Service employees, to keep on top of your continuous professional development.

Things to note
