About the role
We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team at Manannan Court, the Isle of Man's purpose-built acute mental health inpatient facility.
Supporting adults of working age and older people experiencing a mental health crisis or relapse, Manannan Court provides specialist assessment, treatment and recovery-focused care within a safe and therapeutic environment.
As an Occupational Therapist, you'll play a vital role in helping people regain the skills, confidence and routines that enable them to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Using a strengths-based and person-centred approach, you'll carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, develop personalised recovery plans and deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to individual goals.
Working across the inpatient service, you'll deliver both individual and group interventions, supporting service users to engage in meaningful occupations relating to self-care, daily living, work, education, relationships and leisure.
You'll work closely with patients, families and carers, helping individuals maximise their independence while promoting recovery, wellbeing and positive risk-taking.
You'll become part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, contributing specialist occupational therapy expertise to assessment, care planning, risk management and discharge planning.
You'll also have opportunities to supervise students and support staff, contribute to service development initiatives and help shape the future of recovery-focused mental health services on the Isle of Man.
At Manx Care, you'll benefit from working in a healthcare system that is separate from the NHS, with access to excellent professional development opportunities, a well-resourced education and training centre, generous relocation support and the opportunity to enjoy the exceptional quality of life the Isle of Man has to offer.
If you're passionate about enabling people to achieve their recovery goals and want to make a meaningful difference within a specialist inpatient mental health service, we'd love to hear from you.
