Could you use your engineering expertise to help shape safe, sustainable and high-quality infrastructure for the Isle of Man? As Senior Drainage Design Engineer, you'll be at the heart of designing and improving the Islands highway drainage and surface water systems. From sustainable drainage systems to flood mitigation schemes, your work will directly support a reliable, future-focused transport network.

You’ll also play a key role in reviewing drainage proposals linked to planning applications, helping ensure new developments are well thought through and resilient from the start. This is a hands-on, collaborative role where you’ll work closely with colleagues, developers, contractors and statutory bodies to find practical engineering solutions that work in the real world.

You’ll also act as a trusted technical specialist, offering advice, guiding decisions, and representing the Department in meetings when needed. Just as importantly, you’ll support and mentor junior team members, helping to develop skills and share knowledge across the team.
