Are you a dedicated Teacher of Social Sciences with a passion for Sociology and Health & Social Care? Bring strong subject knowledge and a commitment to high standards in learning and conduct. You will deliver engaging, high‑quality teaching while maintaining up‑to‑date subject knowledge. You will foster positive professional relationships, work collaboratively with colleagues and build strong partnerships with parents to support students, promoting a culture of mutual respect across the school community. Benefits
- Newly qualified teachers will automatically start on a generous salary of £42,718 per annum (spine point M4).
- A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.
- Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, you will be offered two pension arrangements: Teachers Superannuation scheme or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution arrangement.
- Returning teachers who have participated in the Department’s Student Loan scheme will have the loan repaid by the Department after completion of the second year of teaching, up to a maximum of £7,500 for a 3‑year degree course or £10,000 for a 4‑year degree course, subject to the Teacher Loan Cancellation Policy.
- Early Career Teachers receive payments of £2,000 at the beginning of each of the first two school years after completion of the ECT induction period.
- Financial support for relocation: one motor vehicle to the Isle of Man, 70% of any removal or storage costs.
- Housing allowance: help to pay rent or mortgage during settlement, up to £500 per month over 2 years.
