About the role
Protect the gateway to the Isle of Man as a Ports Officer, providing a professional and visible security presence across the Island’s harbours, particularly at the Port of Douglas.
In this role, you’ll work closely with Police and Customs Officers, liaise with relevant authorities, and maintain high standards of security and public service. You will manage access to restricted areas, control keys, lock and unlock facilities, respond to incidents, and assist the travelling public as needed. You will also ensure that all incidents, from security infringements to accidents or misbehaviour, are properly reported.
You will play a key operational role during cruise ship visits, including closing piers, controlling traffic and making announcements to keep visitors informed and safe. No two days are the same, and your work will directly contribute to a secure, welcoming environment for all port users.
