About the role

Are you mechanically minded and looking for an exciting opportunity to learn from experienced professionals? Join Shared Fleet Services (SFS) as an Apprentice HGV Technician and gain hands‑on experience maintaining and repairing one of the most diverse fleets on the Island. From emergency response vehicles and highways HGVs to airport equipment and specialist machinery, you'll work alongside experienced technicians, learning the practical skills needed to keep essential Government services running safely and efficiently.

Over this four-year apprenticeship, you'll combine practical workshop experience with day‑release study at University College Isle of Man, working towards a Level 3 City & Guilds qualification while being mentored by Senior HGV Technicians. You'll develop expertise in vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs, build a professional portfolio of achievement, and learn how to work to industry, legal and safety standards in a modern workshop environment.

With exposure to a vast range of vehicles, plant and specialist equipment, you'll gain invaluable experience while working towards becoming a qualified Senior HGV Technician.
