We are looking for a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie to join our catering team, working all year round. We are a Sailing members Club positioned on the waterfront in Cowes with an al a carte menu service daily as well as a high volume of functions.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about quality food and service, and be a team player. Full time position available, hourly rates dependant on experience. Hours to include weekends.
Based in the popular seaside town of Cowes, the Island Sailing Club is a hub for its members, looking to embrace the true spirit of the sea. With the club boasting extensive membership, we hold a historical reputation and boast the perfect location for a Sailing Club, based right on Cowes promenade, making us a popular choice for hungry sailors and large functions.
The club's Bar and Restaurant is doing respectively well, producing a fresh A La Carte menu for its members. We’re really looking for people with a passion for excellent quality food, that really bursts with enthusiasm to continue to learn more alongside a supportive team.
The club is renowned for its high standards and it’s important to us that we have a team in place that can follow these standards and exceed them where possible. Naturally, the club is extremely busy throughout the summer period and slows down in the winter months where you will be focusing more on functions such as parties, weddings or corporate entertaining. These functions can cater for up to 150 people and will require you to be a real team player in order to produce only the best experience for our guests and members.
The increase in our customer base throughout the summer means you will be working in a very fast paced environment, it’s important to us that you’re able to cope with this and ideally have some previous experience of this volume within a previous role. Previous experience at a similar level is vital for this position.
Please Note: This position will require you to work split shifts throughout the peak seasons and hours will average at 42 per week over the year with more hours worked during busy periods and less during quieter times (TOIL).
