We are seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to join our team at Island Healthcare. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high‑quality care to our residents, supporting them with personal care, medication management, and social activities. Your contributions will help enhance the well‑being and quality of life for those we serve.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support medication management and ensure adherence to care plans.
- Engage residents in social activities to promote well‑being and companionship.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in resident conditions.
- Help create a safe and welcoming environment for all residents.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred.
- Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to help others.
Salary and Benefits
- Monday - Friday £12.30 & weekend £13.53 + overtime paid at £1.00 extra per hour.
- Attendance bonus + 50p per hour if all shifts are attended each month – T&C's apply.
- Employee referral bonus.
- Enhancements paid for relevant NVQ's or equivalent.
