Island Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Chef to support the Head Chef in preparing nutritious and appealing meals for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have experience in a kitchen environment, a passion for cooking, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and serving meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Follow food hygiene and safety regulations at all times.
  • Support with stock control, deliveries, and menu planning as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and care staff to ensure residents’ dietary needs are met.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a catering or kitchen role preferred.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Compassionate approach with an understanding of elderly care needs.

Salary and Benefits

  • 0 hour contract - pick & choose your hours Monday - Friday
  • £12.80 & weekend £14.08 + overtime is paid at £1.00 extra per hour
  • Attendance bonus + 50p per hour if all shifts are attended each month - T&C's apply
