Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is recruiting for the position of Philanthropy Manager to be based from its Waterloo Office, London. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model. The purpose of the role is to lead and grow income from high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and major donors, managing and developing long-term, values-driven relationships in line with annually agreed targets and budgets.

The postholder will oversee the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of key supporters, manage a portfolio of high-value prospects, and line manage the Philanthropy Executive to ensure effective delivery of the major donor strategy.

Requirements and responsibilities:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in fundraising, marketing or relationship management
  • In-depth understanding of major donor fundraising and philanthropy trends.
  • Proven ability to secure five- and six-figure gifts from HNWIs.
  • Strong relationship management, networking and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with ability to plan and deliver results.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and data-led decision-making (experience with Power BI an advantage).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Significant experience of working in major donor fundraising or equivalent income-generating roles.
  • Experience of managing or mentoring staff.
  • Demonstrable experience of achieving and exceeding income targets.
  • Experience developing and implementing donor stewardship plans.
  • Experience preparing tailored proposals and impact reports for donors.
  • Experience in developing team strategies and monitoring performance.
