We are seeking a creative and passionate Social Media Coordinator to help deliver engaging digital experiences that inspire audiences, strengthen supporter relationships and drive action across our social media channels.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping Islamic Relief UK's social media presence, creating impactful content and supporting campaigns that raise awareness, increase engagement and generate vital funds for our humanitarian work around the world.
Based within our Marketing team, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by developing compelling content, supporting high-profile campaigns and helping to position Islamic Relief as a leading voice within the charity sector.
- JOB PURPOSE
- Supporting the development and implementation of Islamic Relief UK's organic social media strategy
- Managing and maintaining content across our social media channels, ensuring all content reflects Islamic Relief's brand, values and tone of voice
- Planning, creating and publishing engaging content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, Linked In and other emerging channels
- Maintaining an up-to-date social media content calendar and ensuring content is planned and scheduled effectively
- Supporting the delivery of high-profile campaigns that raise awareness, drive engagement and generate fundraising income
- Developing compelling copy and working with creative teams to produce impactful digital content
- Monitoring social media performance and using insights, analytics and audience data to optimise content and campaign effectiveness
- Keeping up to date with emerging social media trends, best practice and platform developments to identify new opportunities for growth
- Managing online engagement and helping to foster positive relationships with supporters and online communities
- Supporting the development of relationships with influencers, content creators and key stakeholders to extend the reach of Islamic Relief's messaging
- Utilising social media management and reporting tools to monitor activity, evaluate performance and provide actionable recommendations
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across Marketing, Fundraising and Communications to ensure integrated and effective campaign delivery
- Providing operational and strategic support to the Digital Engagement Manager and deputising where required
You will have experience creating platform-specific content, managing multiple priorities and using social media strategically to achieve organisational objectives.
With excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of digital trends, you will be confident working collaboratively across teams and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Degree level qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Significant experience creating engaging, channel-specific content across social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Linked In and Snapchat
- Experience supporting the delivery of social media strategies and campaigns
- Experience producing and managing live video content to drive engagement and communicate key messages
- Experience working within the charity, third sector or not-for-profit environment, or a strong understanding of the sector and its communications needs
- Knowledge and appreciation of international development, humanitarian work and Islamic humanitarian values
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong copywriting and proofreading abilities
- Experience using social media management, monitoring and listening tools, with knowledge of platforms such as Sprout Social being advantageous
- Strong understanding of social media trends, audience behaviours and digital best practice
- Experience using data, reporting and insights to optimise content performance and inform future activity
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience using graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- A creative and innovative approach to content development and audience engagement
- The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- A results-focused mindset with the ability to deliver against objectives and targets
