National Challenges & Events Coordinator Salary: £34,847 + £4000 London Weighting per annum Location: London Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full Time The Vacancy Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a faith-based humanitarian relief and development organisation working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. Established in 1984, with an active presence in over 45 countries, we strive to make the world a better and fairer place for those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disasters. IRUK’s focus is on strengthening effective funding, mobilising for change through advocacy and awareness-raising, and enhancing programme development and delivery. IRUK collaborates with various partners, including governments, NGOs, local authorities, and grassroots communities. We are currently recruiting for the position of ‘National Challenges & Events Coordinator’ based in our Waterloo Office, London. The role operates under a hybrid working model. The main purpose of this role is to coordinate the development and delivery of national events and challenges, aiming to engage communities at the grassroots level through diverse fundraising activities. The coordinator will work closely with the Community Fundraising team to promote support for these events and maximize fundraising income, as well as manage national fundraising initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Plan, develop, and deliver national events and challenges aligned with organisational goals. Collaborate with the Community Fundraising team to promote events and enhance fundraising results. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Ensure high standards of donor and supporter care. Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and suppliers. Coordinate marketing and communication strategies for events. Report on event outcomes and evaluate success metrics. Essential Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience in event management and fundraising through events and challenges. Experience in developing, delivering, monitoring, and evaluating plans and budgets. Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills. Understanding of charity law, fundraising regulations, and health and safety standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with fundraising databases like Raisers Edge. Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent. Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel across the UK and abroad for events. Valid UK driving license and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings. Application Process: Interested candidates should submit an online application.
