We are seeking a passionate and relationship-focused community fundraising officer to help grow and strengthen our fundraising activities across the region. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with supporters, volunteers, community groups and local partners, helping to deliver fundraising initiatives that directly support Islamic Relief's life-changing humanitarian work around the world. Based within the region, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by building strong community relationships, developing volunteer networks and supporting fundraising events and campaigns that generate vital funds for those in need.

As the Community Fundraising Officer, you will support the Regional Community Fundraising Manager in delivering regional fundraising objectives and growing community engagement across your area. You will play a key role in recruiting, developing and supporting volunteers, building meaningful relationships with supporters and stakeholders, and helping to deliver fundraising events, campaigns and activities. Working closely with community groups, schools, mosques, businesses and local organisations, you will help raise awareness of Islamic Relief's work while maximising fundraising opportunities. The role requires a proactive and organised individual who is passionate about building relationships, inspiring volunteers and ensuring excellent supporter experiences.

You will be an enthusiastic and motivated fundraiser with excellent relationship-building skills and a strong commitment to Islamic Relief's mission and values. You will enjoy working with a wide range of people and communities, be confident representing the organisation at events, and have a proven ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality results.

You will ideally have:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience of establishing and developing relationships with key stakeholders and community networks
  • Experience of coordinating projects, events and fundraising campaigns
  • Experience of organising and supervising events and community activities
  • Experience of recruiting, managing and developing volunteers
  • Experience of motivating and supporting volunteers to achieve shared objectives
  • Professional fundraising experience
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local community and regional fundraising landscape
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Excellent presentation and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Good numerical skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Strong IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • The ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands and meet deadlines
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a wider team
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to work
  • Ability to represent Islamic Relief professionally in a variety of community and stakeholder settings
  • Good understanding of international development and humanitarian issues
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles, standards and best practice
  • Strong motivation and empathy towards the aims and objectives of Islamic Relief
