We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safeguarding Coordinator to join our Safeguarding Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strengthening of safeguarding practices across a global organisation, helping to ensure that safeguarding remains embedded in all aspects of our work. The successful candidate will support the implementation and development of safeguarding policies, systems and practices across Islamic Relief Worldwide. Working closely with colleagues across Head Office, country offices and partner organisations, you will help promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

About the role

This role will also support safeguarding case management, training delivery, compliance monitoring, reporting and organisational learning, ensuring safeguarding standards are consistently applied across our operations.

About you

  • A good understanding of safeguarding, PSEAH and child safeguarding principles and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks, trends and learning opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and cultures.
  • Good IT and data management skills.
  • High levels of integrity, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and resilience.
  • A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
