As a Fundraising Officer with Islamic Help, you'll play a vital role in securing funding for our humanitarian programmes, and supporting and improving the quality of life for the most vulnerable around the world.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and deliver income-generating fundraising campaigns, appeals and community events in line with Islamic Help's fundraising strategy and organisational objectives.
- Generate income in line with agreed monthly and annual fundraising targets, taking ownership of individual fundraising performance and proactively identifying opportunities to maximise income.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, fundraisers, businesses, mosques, community organisations and other stakeholders to secure financial support and develop long‑term partnerships.
- Identify, develop and pursue new fundraising and partnership opportunities at local and regional levels.
- Recruit, support, brief, co‑ordinate and motivate volunteers to assist with fundraising activities, community events and campaigns, ensuring they are appropriately supported and equipped to represent Islamic Help.
- Recruit, support and steward individual fundraisers, providing guidance, resources and ongoing engagement to help them maximise their fundraising potential.
- Manage and accurately record online and offline donations, pledges and fundraising activity, ensuring donor records are maintained appropriately and communications are timely, accurate and professional.
- Maintain accurate fundraising and donor records, ensuring relevant information is captured on Islamic Help's CRM and other internal systems.
- Monitor fundraising performance and provide regular updates and reports to the Head of Fundraising on income, activities, opportunities, challenges and outcomes.
- Represent Islamic Help professionally at fundraising events, community activities, meetings and other external engagements, acting as an ambassador for the organisation and its work.
- Support donor stewardship and engagement, ensuring supporters receive an appropriate and positive experience throughout their relationship with Islamic Help.
- Ensure fundraising activities are delivered in accordance with Islamic Help policies, safeguarding requirements and relevant fundraising regulations and legal standards.
- Attend and support fundraising events, collections and community activities, including occasional evenings and weekends where required.
- Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and collaborate with the wider fundraising, marketing, finance and operations teams to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of key campaigns and fundraising activities.
Requirements

- can show a proven and demonstrable track record of achieving fundraising goals or similar/related objectives, through either direct or transferrable experience
- are creative, enthusiastic and proactive, with a passion for fundraising and community engagement
- are an excellent communicator with strong inter‑personal and relationship‑building skills, and confident in engaging diverse audiences
- flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work evenings, weekends and travel nationally
- have a full UK driving licence, as the role will require frequent travel locally and across the country.
Note: The Birmingham job/s will be office‑based, while others will be hybrid/remote depending on the situation.
